Export video clips
Cut a short clip for each starred or featured quote.
In the report, Bristlenose can cut a short video clip for each starred or featured quote, taken from the original recordings.
Extract clips
On the Quotes page, choose Export → Extract Video Clips. Bristlenose extracts a clip for every quote that is starred, plus the quotes featured on signal cards. If nothing is starred or featured, there is nothing to extract.
Clips are cut without re-encoding, so they are fast and keep the original quality. Each clip includes a few seconds before and after the quote, and clips that fall close together in the same session are merged.
Requirements
Clip extraction needs FFmpeg. The desktop app includes it; on the command line, install it once (see Install). If FFmpeg is missing, Bristlenose reports it rather than failing silently.
Clip names
Each clip is named with the participant code, timecode, speaker, and the start of the quote — for example, p1 03m45 Sarah onboarding was confusing.mp4. With anonymisation on, the speaker name is dropped and the code is zero-padded (p01 03m45 onboarding was confusing.mp4).
Clips contain the original audio and video, including any names spoken aloud. Anonymisation applies to transcript text and labels — it does not change the clip's audio. Share clips as carefully as the recordings themselves.
